A beautiful morning run

I don’t normally run in the mornings. Actually, historically, it hasn’t been something I have enjoyed very much. If “my conditions” weren’t ideal—proper sleep, minimal stiffness, errands, etc.—I wouldn’t entertain the idea. Now that I’m training for something and not simply exercising, I feel a stronger sense of motivation to push myself.

I’m glad I did. Aside from feeling great [personally], the weather conditions were ideal—sunny, cool, clear, and not too humid. When I run I try to accomplish the distance of at least 5K and that’s exactly what I was able to do this morning. As morning run evangelists would tell you, it really does get your system going and your body is capable of burning calories at a higher rate throughout the day. Hopefully, I can maintain this as a regular part of my training process. It sure is more convenient to knock-out my run in the morning as it opens up the evening to either boxing conditioning or allowing my body to rest and recover… or just to catch up on life.
